The Cleveland Indians baseball season has just begun and with Opening Day just days away, check out what's new at Jacobs Field for the 2005 season
Last year, the Market Pavillion became a popular destination before and during games. This area, just inside the fence from the Bob Feller Statue, will be even more popular in 2005 with the addition of the Batter's Eye Bar.
The most exciting part is that the Market Pavilion will open at 4:40PM for night games (June 14-August 31) so fans can watch batting practice, socialize and eat dinner. The "cookout" atmosphere of the area will include BBQ Ribs, Turkey legs and Johnsonville Brats.
Besides traditional baseball fare you can sample Mexican burritos, sushi, Green tea ice cream, meat lasagna, artichoke dip and even cannoli.
The right field Mezzanine Level picnic area is enhanced as well. Two areas, dubbed the Backyard Patio and Backyard Patio Too, will be available for groups to party before and during games. Picnic fare will be served in the all-you-can-eat buffets. Call 216-420-HITS for more information.
Kids of all ages will love the new Build-A-Bear Workshop that lets you create your own bear or Slider.
