Q. What's the difference between a conditioner and a deep conditioner? What should I be looking for in a conditioning product?

A. Conditioners: an agent applied to the hair to deposit moisture, detangle hair and add shine/smoothness. They do not "heal" damaged hair.

Deep conditioners (hair masks or conditioning packs): a mixture of concentrated protein in the heavy cream of a moisturizer.

What type of conditioner, depends on what type of hair you have. Tangles easily?- Try a detangling conditioner.

Hair really dry?- Use a deep conditioner.

Q. All winter long my hair is like that picture of the Bride of Frankenstein - full of static electricity. Nothing seems to help. Can you?

A. To prevent static try spraying your hairbrush with hair spray before brushing your hair or Deep condition weekly.

This may sound silly but it works. Keep a fabric softener sheet in your purse, when you are having a "static" day run it over your hair (don't ask how or why it works, but it does).

Q. Is the "anything goes" look for women still going to be popular in the Spring/Summer? What's new on the hair style front?

A. Yes, the "messy just came from the beach" look is popular. I would suggest this look during the day.

Going out at night? Turn the messy curls into soft, flowing, smooth, romantic curls. Curls are finally in!

Q. My mother lost her hair during chemo, but it is coming back in now. But her blonde hair is now almost black and has a lot of curl to it. Can you explain this? Will it stay that way? It's okay either way - we're happy she's here. we just were wondering.

A. I'm sorry.all I can tell you is hair loss is one of the many side affects of chemo. The best advice I could give you is to talk to her doctor.
