Angels and Demons

The novel Angels & Demons was released in 2000, three years before the DaVinci Code. The second film version of a Dan Brown thriller in the hands of Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks is only slightly better than the DaVinci Code or at least so say the critics.

In the movies, Angels & Demons is handled as if it were a sequel. Hanks character as symbologist Robert Langdan is loose in the nation trying to prevent multiple murders. He is called on by the Roman Catholic Church leaders to locate an anti-matter bomb planted in the Vatican by a group called Illuminati. Tension is heightened because the cardinals have gathered in the Sistine Chapel to elect a new pope.

It was enjoyable, but the plot was fast paced and hard driving and it was sort of hard for me to keep up the pace.

Ben Stiller no longer holds the position as security guard - he is now in commercial business. When he hears his "friends" have been shipped to the Smithsonian by a re-animated evil Egyptian king, he goes to DC posing as security - and of course, that's where the fun begins.

It was funny and everyone in the show enjoyed it. The lady behind me never stopped laughing. God bless her to find some humor because a lot of the movies out there now are lousy or don't come to all of the theaters.

This movie (as well as the original) is good family fun. Every age group will enjoy this movie.
