On October 25, 2008 the Virginia Marti Foundation hosted its first fundraising event. Combining a lovely dinner, fashion show and Silent Auction, the foundation strove to finance scholarships for Virginia Marti students. The event was held at Lakewood's Clifton Club.

From a complete line of hats to outer wear, dress wear, evening gowns and a stunning wedding dress, the Fashion Show was a big success.
Even fashion instructor Judy Boryczka had a dress in the show - a retro Doris Day dress in white with black detail on the bodice and skirt. (below)
Patterns and florals were very present in the designs as were beautiful deep colors.
Marlene Kobzowicz, Virginia Marti Foundation Director announced a successful auction and promised another great event next year.
