The Cleveland Botanical Garden's members and visitors have always experienced the Garden as a sanctuary, a place of restoration, renewal and inspiration. On May 31, the Garden and Prevention magazine partnered to make Cleveland a healthier city.
With a readership base that tops 11 million people, Prevention is the nation's #1 healthy lifestyle magazine and the 9th largest.
The day began with "Cleveland's Big Stretch" on Wade Oval, led by Prevention fitness expert Chris Freytag. After the stretch, guest were treated to a healthy breakfast, followed by a day's worth of seminars, fitness events and delicious cooking demonstrations.
They were also able to visit exciting healthy lifestyle pavilions featuring a range of healthy happenings, including food, fitness, energy boosters, beauty, and so much more.
May 31 was also a homecoming for Prevention Editor-in-Chief Liz Vaccariello. This Cleveland native was the editor of Cleveland magazine for seven years and also wrote for Scene and Northern Ohio Live.
"I am, and always will be, a Clevelander at heart," says Liz. "It was here that I was raised, educated and eventually came to appreciate health and fitness. I credit Cleveland for giving me a healthy personal start - as well as a professional one!"
The beautiful Cleveland Botanical Gardens were the perfect location to inspire people to live a healthier life. As Liz Vaccariello said, "Living a healthy lifestyle is more than being thin and looking good in your jeans."
