The area’s best athletes (and women were well represented!) were honored for their outstanding 2009 accomplishments at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel on February 3, 2010.
Jessica Beard who attended Euclid High School and Tess Sito from Elyria High School were both honored.
Jessica Beard was a standout at Euclid High School and now is a sprinter for the US Track and Field team. She is starting her junior year at texas A&M.
She has earned numerous awards and is currently 10th in the world in the 400m with a time of 50:56
Tess Sito is a 2009 graduate of Elyria High School and led the Pioneers to four straight softball championships and winning the state title. Tess went 26-3 as a pitcher and threw 2 no-hitters in the post-season.
She won numerous awards including First Team All-Ohio and earned a softball scholarship to Cleveland State University where she will be playing this spring.
