Being bodacious is having the courage to be in charge of your life. Having a bodacious holiday means taking charge of your holiday experience and making it memorable, fun, and bit spunky!
Here are some tips to make your holiday the most bodacious ever!
B: Be there, be real.
Do more than physically show up to parties with co-workers, friends or family. Bring your real-time attention, enthusiasm and sincerity. Take the initiative to start conversations, introduce others, and laugh like you mean it.
O: Order, order, order.
Order out dinner when you need write holiday cards. Order food for parties or (gasp!) the big meal itself. Order gifts online or through catalogs. You can't enjoy the season yourself if you're wiped out doing everything yourself.
D: Dare to tell the people you love that you love them.
That's right, say the words and tell them why. Enthusiastically! There's your real present.
A: Accept gifts with shameless appreciation.
Let your eyes sparkle and your smile spread wide. That's part of your gift to them!
C: Call several people who sent you a holiday card with a surprise hello!
Leave a voice mail, comment on something they shared, or simply wish them a great holiday. They will feel great, and you will, too!
I: Introduce yourself at holiday parties where you only know a few people.
Others likely feel the same way and it's a great way to practice networking.
O: Open yourself.
Be your own gift to yourself this holiday. Look inside, there's some cool stuff already there. Remember, we all gotta little bodaciousness. It's just a matter of recognizing it, nurturing it, and letting it grow.
U: Unleash expectations...of yourself and others.
In fact, throw away the leash! Your inner dog will be thrilled.
S: Stand under as much mistletoe as possible!
Goodness knows we could all use a few more good smackeroos. Now is the time to stock up!
