Women In Sports and Events

WISE was formed in a New York City Restaurant in 1993 and now boasts that it is the "leading professional organization for women in the sports and sports event industry." There are now chapters in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Detroit and Cleveland.

Paula Grooms is founder of the Cleveland Chapter. Having been to New York on business and seeing first-hand the power and potential of women in the same industry collaborating with and assisting each other, she knew she wanted to bring WISE to Cleveland.

Paula met and spoke to Sue Rodin, founder of WISE, and by December 2003 the first meeting of the Cleveland Chapter was convened.

Members come to the meetings and events for an opportunity to network with people with similar interests and concerns. They share ideas and support and offer their experiences to each other in a friendly, yet businesslike setting.
